The Italian auto giant Fiat is planning to start production of a new Fiat 500 in its Tychy plant in Poland in July 2007, the Polish News Agency reported Friday.
Sales of the small-engine car are planned to start in September 2007, the report said.
The plans were announced on Thursday by Fiat's Chief Executive Sergio Marchionne during his visit to Fiat's Sevel factory in Atessa, central Italy.
According to the Tychy plant's development plans for the coming 10 years, the factory is to produce 120,000 Fiat 500 cars and 120,000 Ford Ka cars annually.
