At least one child was killed and two others injured when a bomb went off on Monday in western Nepal, Royal Nepalese Army (RNA) said in Kathmandu on Tuesday.

"At least one child was killed on the spot and two others wounded when a bomb abandoned by the anti-government guerrillas went off at Devdal village of Rupandehi district, some 300 km west of Kathmandu," RNA Public Relations Directorate said in a press statement.

Of the two wounded, one is undergoing treatment in Butwal town of the district and is in normal condition, while the other, who was in serious condition, had been taken to a capital in Kathmandu for further treatment, the statement said.

Meanwhile, the guerrillas abducted a businessman of a furniture factory from Nayaroad area of central Sarlahi district, some 100 km south of Kathmandu, the statement added.
