Japan's National Police Agency (NPA) has signed a document with Britain's Serious Organized Crime Agency to join hands in fighting cyber crimes, local press reported on Tuesday.

Under the document, signed Monday in London, the NPA and the Serious Organized Crime Agency will jointly develop software, share information and hold training courses for Internet experts to counter cyber crimes, NPA officials were quoted as saying.

Forums on prevention of cyber crimes will also be held between the authorities of the two countries.

The NPA started cooperation with Britain's National Hi-Tech Crime Unit on combating cyber crimes in 2002. The Unit is currently supervised by the Serious Organized Crime Agency.
