Indonesia and Nigeria have planned to cooperate in the oil sector, Indonesian Minister of Energy and Mineral Resources Purnomo Yusgiantoro said in Jakarta on Wednesday.
The plan was made during a meeting between Indonesian President Susilo Bambang Yudhoyono and his Nigerian counterpart Olusegun Oba- sanjo in Indonesia's resort of Bali last week on the sidelines of the Developing Eight's (D-8) summit conference, said Purnomo.
"There has been an agreement on that, but it needs follow-up," he said after a hearing with parliament members.
However, the minister did not give further details on the cooperation.
The disparity of crude oil price between Nigeria and Southeast Asia was high, which has led an Indonesian company purchasing it from there, said the minister.
All D-8 member countries are also members of the Organization of Islamic Conference (OIC), which focused its cooperation on investment and trade, said Purnomo.
