Chinese Vice Premier wants improved meteorological innovation
font size

Chinese Vice Premier Hui Liangyu underscored in Beijing Thursday that China needs to build a world class modern meteorological system.

Hui said China's meteorological services have played an important role in the country's disaster relief, economic construction, social development and national defense.

Yet the Vice Premier said that current meteorological technology and services do not entirely meet the need of the fast growing society. He urged all the related departments to implement the central government's policies on meteorological development and provide sufficient support to the innovation.
