Two Palestinians including a top leader of the Islamic Jihad (Holy War) were killed in an Israeli airstrike on Gaza City on Saturday, Palestinian witnesses and medics said.
An earlier report said that the two killed were members of the Islamic Resistance Movement (Hamas).
The Israeli army confirmed the airstrike targeting a car with Palestinian militants in Gaza City.
A top Jihad militant commander was killed and the other fatality was a Palestinian woman, said witnesses.
Six other Palestinians were also wounded, including a woman and her child, both of whom were in critical condition, medics said.
Witnesses said that an Israeli drone fired two missiles at a pickup in Gaza City, badly damaging the vehicle and nearby cars.
