font size

Sudan's ruling party on Sunday expressed its keenness to establish "distinguished relations" with China in the economic and trade fields and coordinate political positions on the international stages.

"It is important to develop distinguished relations with China and coordinate political positions with it to serve the interests of the two countries," Deputy Chairman of the National Congress Party, Nafie Ali Nafie told reporters.

Nafie made the remarks one day after he wrapped up an eight-day visit to China and returned to the Sudanese capital.

During his trip to China, Nafie said that he held a series of talks with senior officials of both the Chinese central government and the Chinese Communist Party.

Describing his recent visit to China as successful and fruitful, he believed that the visit would be a huge boost to the current relationship between the two countries in various domains.

He reiterated that he considered the Chinese communist party as a close friend to Sudan.

The Sudanese official praised the cooperations between the two countries, saying "there are excellent cooperations between Sudan and China and we hope to increase the size of the bilateral trade and investments."

Nafie pointed out that the relations between Sudan and China have witnessed rapid development since the two countries established diplomatic relations, especially during recent years.

He said that his delegation and the Chinese side signed a number of agreements in various domains during the visit.
