At least nine Nepali girls have been rescued from various brothels of India, Maiti Nepal (MN) said here Tuesday.
"MN and Stop-Delhi, non-government organizations of Nepal and India respectively, have jointly rescued nine Nepali girls from different brothels of New Delhi, the capital city of India," MN said in a press statement.
All rescued children are under the age of 18, the statement noted, adding, "All of the rescued girls have been rehabilitated at MN."
The MN, some two weeks ago, also rescued 20 Nepali women trafficked to different cities of India.
The MN, working for women rights, has rescued hundreds of sold girls so far, the statement noted.
MN has been providing various sorts of employment-oriented training to about 100 rescued girls at present, the statement added.
