Nepali national conference on peace, reconstruction and development is scheduled to open in the capital on July 9-11, The Himalayan Times reported on Friday.
According to the newspaper, the conference, to be attended by 200 invited participants from academia, politics, civil society and the development sphere, will study various aspects of peace building, including dialogue between the government and the guerrillas, management of arms, and restructuring of the state through the constituent assembly process.
Addressing a press conference here on Thursday, co-ordinator of the seminar organizing committee Kanak Mani Dixit said, "In reconstruction, the discussion will tackle both human rehabilitation as well as infrastructure and economic revival. The discussion on development will seek to learn from the success and mistakes of the past to chart the course for the longer term future."
