Chinese Premier Wen Jiabao on Thursday sent a message to Singapore's Prime Minister Lee Hsien Loong to congratulate him on his re-election victory.
In the message, Wen expressed his congratulations to the re-elected prime minister, adding that he believed that the Lee-led government would ensure a better future for Singapore.
Wen described China and Singapore as good neighbors and said bilateral relations have developed smoothly. The two countries have made remarkable achievements in exchanges and cooperation in many fields, he said.
China was willing to work together with Singapore on promoting the healthy and stable development of Sino-Singapore relations, Wen added.
On the same day, Chinese Foreign Minister Li Zhaoxing also congratulated George Yeo on his re-election as Singapore's new minister of foreign affairs.
In his message, Li said the two countries had good momentum in developing bilateral relations. There have been active exchanges at different levels between the two countries, and cooperation in many fields have also been expanded.
Li said he was willing to working with Yeo to push forward the development of the two countries' friendly ties and cooperation.
