Malaysia approves multiple entry visa for Chinese, Indian nationals
font size

The Malaysian Cabinet has approved the use of multiple entry visa for Chinese and Indian nationals visiting Malaysia, local media reported on Saturday.

The move will enable Chinese and Indian visitors in Malaysia to travel to some neighbor countries such as Singapore, Thailand and Indonesia and then return to Malaysia, Tourism Minister Tengku Adnan Tengku Mansor was quoted as saying.

Taking an immediate effect, the approval is expected to bring more Chinese and Indian tourists to Malaysia, Tengku Adnan said Friday in the northern state of Perak.

"This will also increase the number of tourists who revisited Malaysia," he told reporters after opening the Marina Cove Resort in Lumut, Perak.

To promote the tourism sector and woo more tourists for the Visit Malaysia Year 2007, the Tourism Ministry will introduce more measures in the future, added Tengku Adnan.
