The captain of Angolan national soccer team, Akwa, has pledged to score goals in the Germany 2006 World Cup, after poor performance in the 2006 African Cup of Nations (ACN) in Egypt.
According to Angola Press Angop on Friday, speaking to BBC web site, the most capped player of Palancas Negras (nickname of Angolan soccer squad) said that he had a lot of chances at the last African tournament but did not score goals and he promised to make it in the next World Cup in Germany, beginning from June 9 to July 9.
The 29-year-old player, who scored the goal that took the Southern Africans to Germany, after beating Rwanda by 1-0, said that he had learnt from those mistakes and was preparing and working hard so he gets the same chances in the World Cup, he will not miss.
The team's top scorer returned to form last April, scoring a hat-trick as the Angolans crushed Mauritius by 5-1 in the regional Cosafa Cup.
Angola is in group D along with Portugal, Mexico and Iran.
The Angolans will take on Portugal in their debut game.
