Footprint of ancient man found in China
font size

A rare footprint of primitive man was recently found in Shangping Village, Chishui Township, Guangchang County of southeast China's Jiangxi Province. This is another important discovery of prehistoric relics by local archaeologists following the Moya Stone Inscriptions found in the early 1990s at Mount. Wanling, Guyuan Village of the same town.

The footprint was found on a huge piece of mica stone. It runs 28 cm long, about 8 cm wide at the front, 9 cm in the middle and about 8 cm at the heel, seeming a result of a tread. The site is just facing the Inscriptions across a river, pointing to frequent primitive men activities in this region.
