Plateau passenger train to run at 160km/h

Passenger trains on the Qinghai-Tibet Railway will be put into trial operation on July 1, People's Daily reporter leant from Qinghai-Tibet Railway Company, a state-owned firm responsible for the construction and operation of the line.

Tailored for the plateau line, the passenger trains are environment friendly and energy efficient, and will run at a designed speed of 160 km per hour.
