Venezuela would promote its "Full Petroleum Sovereignty" at the upcoming special meeting of the Organization of Petroleum Exporting Countries (OPEC), said government officials on Tuesday.
Venezuela would call for full use of fuel, higher petroleum price, global energy balance, and strategic use of hydrocarbon for economic integration, social justice, solidarity and anti-poverty, the officials said.
The OPEC meeting, scheduled for Thursday in Caracas, was expected to draw the attendance of about 200 participants from 11 member states, said Rafael Ramirez, Venezuela's minister of energy and petroleum.
More than 130 news agencies had registered to cover the meeting, the officials said.
