Nepali PM to visit India: official
font size

Nepali Prime Minister Girija Rasa Koirala is planning an official visit to India early next week, his first foreign tour since being appointed as PM a month ago, a cabinet source disclosed on Friday.

According to the source who spoke on condition of anonymity, the cabinet meeting on Friday will take a formal decision about this.

The government has already proposed June 6-9 as the visit dates to India. The government will finalize the list of delegation members and other details.

The cabinet source said it is going to be a goodwill visit.

"There is no specific agenda for the visit," the source said.

"But issues of bilateral interest and problems faced by Nepal will certainly be discussed," he added.

Koirala was scheduled to visit Bangkok for a medical check-up from Sunday, but it is not clear whether the Bankok trip has been canceled, the source said.
