State Councilor: China to enhance concrete cooperation with SAARC
font size

China will actively conduct concrete cooperation with the South Asian Association for Regional Cooperation (SAARC) in the spirit of reciprocity and common prosperity, said State Councilor Tang Jiaxuan on Monday in Beijing.

Tang told visiting Bangladeshi Minister of Foreign Affairs M. Morshed Khan that China, as a friendly neighbor, attaches great importance to cooperation with the SAARC.

Khan said that Bangladesh welcomes China to become an observer of the SAARC and hopes to carry out effective cooperation with China in this regard.

Tang also said China will, as always, work with Bangladesh to promote the all-round partnership of cooperation between the two countries.

Khan said the Bangladeshi government will stick to the one-China policy and continue to make joint efforts with China to promote bilateral relations.

Invited by his Chinese counterpart Li Zhaoxing, Khan is in a three-day official visit to China from June 5 to 7.
