Two killed, three wounded in new Israeli airstrike on Gaza

Two Palestinians were killed and three wounded on Monday afternoon when an Israeli army reconnaissance drone targeted with two air-ground rockets a car that drove in northern Gaza Strip, witnesses and medics said.

The eyewitnesses said that the Israeli drone flew over the area and then fired two missiles at the car, adding that two huge explosions were heard and many people in the area rushed towards the car to search for casualties.

Palestinian paramedics who arrived at the scene said they found a body of one Palestinian that was burned and evacuated the wounded to a hospital in northern Gaza Strip.

Sabber al-Attar, chief of emergency at the Kamal Odwan Hospital confirmed that two Palestinians were killed and three others wounded, two are seriously.

The sources identified the dead men as Imad Assaleia and Majdi Hammas, members of the Popular Resistance Committees' armed wing, saying Assaleia and Hammas were behind firing rockets at southern Israel.

Israel had vowed on Sunday that it would harshly retaliate for firing homemade rockets at Israeli towns in southern Israel.

Hundreds of Palestinian militants were killed in Israeli airstrike on their cars and homes in the last four years.
