"China is the biggest neighbor of India and to develop cooperation with China is one of the preferential emphasis of India's foreign policies", said India's Defense Minister Pranab Mukherjee, when attending the fifth Asia Security Summit, which was held on June 3, in Singapore.

Mukherjee said the top officials of India and China communicate frequently, and the trend to build a mutual trust and understanding relationship is being enhanced. The bilateral relationship has expanded to various fields. The two countries are confident to find more fields for cooperation on the basis of current situation.

Some 250 defense ministers, military officials and scholars from more than 20 countries and regions in Asia Pacific, North America and Europe including the United States, India, Britain, Japan, the Republic of Korea, Australia and China took part in the three-day event, which is also known as the Shangri-la Dialogue.
