One Palestinian was killed and four injured on Wednesday as Israeli soldiers stationed on the borders near eastern Gaza opened fire at them, medics and witnesses reported.
However, Israel Radio quoted Israeli army officials as saying that a group of Palestinian gunmen were planting an explosive device in the area and the soldiers opened fire at them.
Witnesses said that the five Palestinians are members in the national security forces of the Palestinian National Authority ( PNA) and they were sitting near their post close to the borders between Gaza and Israel.
Jomaa al-Saqqa, chief of emergency at Shiffa hospital in Gaza City confirmed that the hospital received one body of a Palestinian national security forces, and four of his colleagues that are in moderate conditions but stable.
Palestinian security sources said that they were informed by Israeli army forces to send an ambulance to the area to pick up the body of a Palestinian.
