January, Cruiserweight unification
It was the Cruiserweight unification bout between Jean Marc Mormec and O'Neil Bell. This fight was bombarded with intensity. It was extremely satisfying in the sense that you had two big, strong guys showcasing great heart and determination. And you can see how the iron Mormec finally depleted and have nothing much left to give.
March, the big collision in Super middleweight
This month, we saw two renowned super middleweight champions unifying, the showdown between American Jeff Lacy and Englishman Joe Calzaghe. The fight I consider to be the best one-sided affair I've seen in boxing.
Lacy had no answer for Calzaghe's attack. Calzaghe laid out a flawless plan. He threw punches at all angles all the time and Lacy's defense was null and void against Calzaghe's unceasing onslaught.
The highlight of this game is Calzaghe's perfect performance and Lacy's dreadful iron chin.
May, the bad boy against the golden boy
It was a collision between two radical different boxing styles, the intimidating savage Mayorga take on the brilliant tactical De La Hoya.
Both were very prominent boxing champions. The diligent "golden boy" De La Hoya is technically perfect while the barbarous
"bad boy" Mayorga is noted for his iron chin and wild punches.
The highlight of this game is De La Hoya's stormy outburst that terminated Mayorga at the last moment.
