China has successfully developed magnet engines, one of the core technologies in PMS (permanent suspension system) and plans to build the first PMS rail way in Dalian, the project team declared in Dalian.
The success is the result of ten years' efforts and the three-kilometer long line would begin to be built within the year, which would make 320 kilometers per hour possible.
Li Lingqun, top scientist of the research team, said the highest speed would reach 536 kilometers per hour and the two types of engines developed so far had been proved to work well in the test for light rail maglev technology.
In the test, the locomotive runs ahead stably and quietly. Researchers explained there was no noise unless it gears up to certain speed when friction between the locomotive and the air happens.
