Zambian Deputy Minister at State House Webby Chipili accused Friday some legislators of using President Levy Mwanawasa's recent illness to gain political mileage.
Chipili said it is unreasonable for some politicians to keep discussing the illness after Mwanawasa has fully recovered and resumed work.
The MP of ruling Movement for Multiparty Democracy (MMD) advised the politicians still doubting Mwanawasa's health to visit State House to see for themselves how well the president is doing.
Chipili said in Parliament that the president should be left alone to decide on matters regarding his political career and is not interested in malicious opinions from some members of the opposition.
Last month Mwanawasa said he was fit to complete his first term and to contest the second one.
The 57-year-old president was flown to London on April 1 for treatment after he was hit by a minor stroke and returned home three weeks later.
He is scheduled to re-run the general elections later this year for a second term.
