The Nepali government freed altogether 124 guerrillas detained in various jails around the country on Tuesday.
Home Ministry spokesperson Baman Rasa Neupane told reporters that they were released after the government on Monday decided to withdraw all cases filed against guerrillas under the Terrorist and Disruptive Activities (Control and Punishment) Ordinance (TADO) .
Neupane said the exact number of guerrilla detainees will become clear only when the government attorneys inform about the cases filed under TADO.
"The process to release all those detained under the TADO has begun," he said.
