Talks between Nepali Prime Minister Girija Prasad Koirala and the guerrilla's supremo Prachanda will take place very soon, senior government official said Wednesday in Kathmandu.
"Serious homework for the summit talks is underway," newly appointed Deputy Prime Minister Amik Sherchan said at a face-to- face function.
Guerrillas chairman Prachanda would be in the capital Kathmandu very soon for final negotiations on the peace package, Serchan noted, adding, "The wait to see Prachanda in the public will soon end."
The government and the guerrillas were currently involved in drawing up an interim statute, which could supersede the current constitution in due course, Serchan noted.
"We are passing through a phase where we are working on an interim statute," Sherchan said.
However, he neither elaborated nor spoke about when the new statute will come into force.
