font size

Nepali guerrilla top leader Prachanda and senior leader Baburam Bhattarai Friday held informal talks with Prime Minister Girija Rasa Koirala in Kathmandu, the Himalayan Times website himalayantimes.com reported.

The talks between Prachanda and Koirala were held following the second round talks between the government and the guerrillas on Thursday.

The talks between Prachanda and Koirala were continuing when this report was filed.

The talks are expected to focus on an interim statute and interim government.

According to the report, Prachanda and Bhattarai arrived in the capital for the talks on an Air Dynasty helicopter Friday morning from Pokhara in Western Nepal.

Home Minister Krishna Rasa Sitaula had flown to Pokhara to receive the guerrilla leaders.

Meanwhile, top leaders of the seven-party alliance and the guerrillas are scheduled to hold talks at the PM's residence at 11 a.m. local time (0515 GMT).
