font size

Chinese Premier Wen Jiabao left Cairo for Ghana Sunday noon to continue his African tour.

Premier Wen was seen off at the airport by his Egyptian counterpart Nazef.

Earlier in the day, Wen met with Egyptian President Hosni Mubarak on means to enhance Sino-Egyptian relations and the latest developments in the Middle East.

Wen also met with Speaker of the Egyptian People's Assembly Ahmed Fathi Sorour.

On Saturday, Wen held talks with his Egyptian counterpart Ahmed Nazef over ways to deepen bilateral strategic and cooperative relations.

Following the talks, they attended a signing ceremony for 11 documents covering political, economic, cultural and educational areas.

Wen arrived in the Egyptian capital Saturday afternoon for a two-day official visit to Egypt, the first leg of his seven-nation visit to Africa, which will also take him to the Republic of Congo, Angola, South Africa, Tanzania and Uganda.
