Guess 1: Ronaldo's sorrow |
During the last two World Cups, the phenomenal Ronaldo has reached his pinnacle with 12 goals. Just 3 goals in this World Cup, he will break Gerd Muller's incomparable record of 14. But that will never happen to the overweight Ronaldo. This will be his farewell World Cup with no goals and remain in his mind with sorrow. |
Guess 2: Raul to retire from the national team |
Raul, the two-time top scorer in the Spanish League has passed his prime and on the twilight. He received floods of negative reviews from the domestic media when granted by the coach with permission to the first team lineup. In this World Cup, he will continue to be dismal, and then replaced by Fernando Torres as the leading striker. Raul will be heart broken and decide to retire after this World Cup. |
Guess 3: Australia will be the biggest black horse |
With Harry Kewell, Tim Cahill, and the legendary coach Guus Hiddink, Australia is a team that can not be underestimated in this World Cup. Considered one of the best coaches in world football, Australia pulled off a coup when appointing Guus Hiddink as the coach of the national team. He once amazingly led the South Koreans into the semi-finals of the 2002 World Cup and the Dutch into the last four of the 1998 World Cup. With his help and all the strengths, the Socceroos will be the biggest black horse in this World Cup just like what the Greeks did in the Euro. |
Guess 4: Walcott to be the best rookie |
The fact that Theo Walcott was picked out by Ericsson as a member of the England squad is already a powerful proof of this 17 year old's talent. Fortunately coupled with the chance of Rooney's absence, Walcott will be a budding star on this World Cup, stunning the globe with a splendid goal in a crucial matchup, just like what Michael Owen did in the draw against Argentina in1998 World Cup. |
Guess 5: Baros to be the top scorer |
This Czech Republic youngster is widely regarded as one of the hottest properties in Europe. His splendid 5 goals in the 2004 Euro earned him worldwide fame and the Golden Boot. With the feed of Czech's strong midfield, the heavy bomber will smash any solid defense. Crowning the scoring title will not be a dream impossible. |
