Confusion has broken out in Group E. Each team has the ability to decide its own fate going into the last 16. Anybody can play with anybody in this group. Group E is now the official "Group of Death".

Ghana win and US tie put the entire group within 3 points. Italy should take a weakened Czech squad to the cleaners, even though they only have to play for a tie, paving the way for Ghana and USA to decide who goes through.

Italy, 1 win and 1 tie, has a slight edge over the other three teams. They don't need to win a match, even a tie with the Czech will do the trick.

Czech Republic and Ghana both have much chance than the US. US went all out in the game against Italy. Though they got the result that they wanted, the US paid dearly for their next match against Ghana. They lose some key players while a very healthy Ghana is getting ready for the final duel. I reckon that the Ghana-US matchup will be as bloody as the Italy's and finally the Americans will fall.

As for the Czechs, their morale is weak after the defeat to Ghana by two goals and their keyman has injured. Their meet with Italy will be a big disaster for them.

To sum up, I think Italy and Ghana will have a better chance of survival than Czechs and US.
