England, more of an old banger than a luxury sports car

England have made another boring game after another. They do not look like a World Cup winners, no one will fear this misfiring team. I've been waiting for their click moment and the fulfillment of their potential, but that doesn't seem close.

This time against Ecuador, they were lifeless as usual. The first half was as dull as anything so far from England in the previous games. Not until the second half did the Brits show a glimpse of flashing by their skipper Beckham who curled a trademark 25-yard free kick just inside the post and help England lift Ecuador 1-0.

It was an ugly game for England. They should have made more goals but anyway, they won the victory and are in the quarter-finals again. Next up, they'll have to face Portugal. With their poor performances in the games that preceded, I highly doubt that they'll get passed this time. But luckily the Portugal's chief striker Cristiano Ronaldo has been out due to a injury in the clash between Portugal and Holland, the result is still up in the air.

Unless England beat a good team like Portugal, I am still going to have my doubts.
