Israel airstrikes hit Hamas camp in Gaza
font size

Israeli aircraft launched a missile attack on a Hamas training camp in southern Gaza Strip on Wednesday, but no casualties were reported.

An Israeli army spokeswoman said several air strikes had taken place in southern Gaza, but they did not target any specific person or building.

Two of the missiles struck about 200 meters apart each other, one of them hitting a Hamas training camp, witnesses said.

They claimed to have seen militants running away from the missile, but so far there have been no reports of any casualties.

The air strike is part of a major Israeli incursion into the southern Gaza Strip on Wednesday aimed at pressing Palestinian militants to return a kidnapped soldier. The soldier was snatched on Sunday in an attack on an Israeli army post along the Gaza border.
