With a total length reaching to more than 2000 kilometers, the three feeders, from Lhasa to Nyingchi, Lhasa to Xigaze and Xigaza to Yadong, and newly-bulit Qinghai-Tibet railway together will take a Y-shape when they are established in ten years.

In addition, the link between Dunhuang railway and Qinghai-Tibet railway is on the schedule. Dunhuang railway, from Liugou station of Lanxin railway in the east to Wenhua road of Dunhuan city of Gansu Province in the west, is about 165 kilometers long and begun construction last March. After being established, Dunhuang railway will be extended to link with Golmud of Qinghai Province and establish a link with Qinghai-Tibet railway.
