Learning "progressive nature" with other innovative thoughts: editorial

The spirit of strengthening the progressive nature of the Party should be taught with studies of other innovative thoughts, says a leading magazine of the Communist Party of China (CPC).

A series of innovative thoughts have come from the practice of the CPC this century, said an editorial of Qiushi (Seeking Truth), a monthly periodical under the CPC Central Committee, to be published on Saturday marking the 85th founding anniversary of the CPC.

These thoughts include "strengthening the governance capability of the CPC", "building and implementing a scientific concept of development", "building a harmonious socialist society", "building an innovation-oriented country", "building a socialist new countryside", "fostering a socialist ethics concept on honors and disgraces" and "pursuing peaceful development".

Tremendous success has been made by the Chinese nation under the leadership of the CPC since it was founded 85 years ago, says the editorial.

The root cause of its achievements is that the Party always represents the development requirements of China's advanced social productive forces, the progressive course of China's advanced culture, and the fundamental interests of the majority of the Chinese people, and maintains the progressive nature as a Marxist Party, says the editorial.

"We must continue to build the progressive nature of the Party with theoretical innovation based on practice, boost economic and social development and further improve the self-construction of the Party," it says.
