Beijing Police will purchase three police-using helicopters, one of which is Helicopter AW139 made by Agusta S.p.A in Italy, according to Beijing Police at the signing ceremony of these helicopters on Thursday.

The latest Helicopter AW139 has a maximum launching weight of 6.4 tons with a maximum speed of 318 kilometers per hour, and it can embark 15 personnel, according to an expert.

Another two helicopters are CA109-sized helicopters made by Jiangxi Changhe Agusta Helicopter Co., Ltd.

The police-using helicopters, as a kind of high tech equipment, have characteristics of fast-motorized velocity, large controlling area, strong deterrent force and slight impact on ground traffic conditions. And the helicopters can display their functions on dynamic surveillance in wide range, tailing and controlling anytime, transmitting real-time information and delivering police forces quickly and flexibly.

Beijing Police said these helicopters will mainly be used in airborne public security by patrolling and monitoring, traffic leading by monitoring, airborne directing, surrounding the crime suspect, supporting the ground forces and counter-terrorism. Besides these, they take responsibility for the emergency disaster relief, medical aid, the fire fighting and the emergency service of some governmental departments.
