Kenya Volleyball Federation (KVF) official confirmed on Friday that Sadatoshi Sugawara, a professional Japanese coach, arrived in the country last week and is already training the women's team for a four-nation tourney to be held from July 14-16 in Nairobi.

David Lung'aho, Kenya's head coach, will now be Sugawara's assistant.

Besides Kenya, Cameroon and Egypt are the other two African teams that qualified for the world championship.

The KVF has named a squad of 13 players for the four-nation tournament that also includes Egypt, Cameroon, Nigeria.

Lucy Chege will captain the squad, and Violet Baraza Ndasaba is the oldest and the most experienced, having played in four previous world championships, two Olympic Games and 15 African championships.
