A survey conducted by the National Bureau of Statistics of China (NBS) shows that the confidence index of nation-wide entrepreneurs last quarter was 132.5, 0.6 points lower than in the first quarter, but 4.0 points higher than in the same period of last year. The consumer confidence index last quarter was 94, with 93.8, 93.8, and 94.1 respectively from April to June. In June, 65 per cent of consumers indicated that they did not think individual and household incomes would drop, and nearly 60 percent believed that the Chinese economy would continue to grow steadily.
