The southern Pakistani port city of Karachi was declared Wednesday on high alert after a series of bomb blasts in India's financial city of Mumbai, the private GEO Television reported.
Police on patrolling throughout the city are ordered to remain alert and keep an eye on every suspicious activity, said Deputy Inspector General for Operations in Karachi Mushtaq Shah, according to GEO.
An extra force of 400 personnel has been deployed to sensitive consulates and buildings, GEO quoting the officer reported.
