Jordan condemned on Thursday the Israeli military operations in the Gaza Strip and Lebanon.
During an emergency meeting, the Jordanian cabinet condemned the use of force by Israel, stressing that Jordan was against any moves that endangered the Palestinian and Lebanese people.
The cabinet also called on the United Nations and the international community to immediately interfere to end the escalation of violence in the Middle East region.
It also urged all concerned parties to exercise restraint and end "dangerous practices."
Jordan will take part in all Arab meetings to discuss the situation and continue efforts to provide aid to the Palestinians, said the cabinet.
Tensions in the Middle East region have been heightened as Israel pressed ahead a massive offensive in the Gaza Strip and intensified attacks on Lebanon.
Israeli warplanes pounded Lebanon and the navy blockaded Lebanese sea ports following a cross-border attack by Lebanese Hizbollah militia on Wednesday, during which two Israeli soldiers were captured and eight others killed.
About 50 Lebanese have been killed so far.
While in the Gaza Strip, the Israeli forces stepped up a military operation to free an Israeli soldier snatched by Palestinian militants on June 25.
Over 80 Palestinians including civilians have been killed since Israel started the grand offensive on June 28.
