UN estimates 3.6 per cent global economic growth this year

The World Economic Situation and Prospect Report 2006 released on Tuesday by the UN in Geneva shows that the strength of the global economy has been restored in the early part of this year and predicts the yearly growth rate will reach 3.6 percent. The report also points out the economic growth of some developed countries, which slowed down towards the end of last year, has resumed. Developing countries are still on a track of steady economic growth.
