Pakistani PM urges for restoration of peace in Lebanon
font size

Pakistani Prime Minister Shaukat Aziz Sunday strongly condemned the current violence against Lebanon and urged the international community to take steps for immediate restoration of peace in Lebanon.

Aziz expressed this position in a telephone conversation with Lebanese Prime Minister Fuad Siniora Sunday afternoon, according to the state-run Pakistan Television.

He said that the loss of lives and property should cease immediately.

The prime minister appealed to the world community, the permanent members of the United Nations Security Council, and other relevant bodies to intervene.

He said that Pakistan strongly stands by the Lebanese people and fully respects their sovereignty and integrity.
