font size

One Israeli man was killed in a rocket attack by Lebanon's Hizbollah guerillas on the northern Israeli town of Nahariya on Tuesday, medical sources said.

Several others were also wounded in the new Hizbollah rocket salvo, the sources added.

The latest death has brought to 13 the number of Israeli civilians killed in the violence between Hizbollah and Israel which broke out a week ago and 12 Israeli soldiers have also been killed.

Meanwhile, a local Israeli TV reported that a house in Nahariya was hit by a rocket and caught fire.

In addition, Hizbollah guerillas fired rockets again onto the northern Israeli city of Haifa around 5:00 p.m. (1400 GMT). There was no immediate report on casualties.

Rockets also landed northern Israeli towns of Carmiel Ma'alot, Safed and Rosh Pina.

Earlier, Hizbollah guerillas launched a barrage of rockets onto Haifa and Safed.

Eight Israelis were killed and dozens wounded in a Hizbollah rocket attack on Haifa on Sunday.

Hizbollah has rained rockets on northern Israel since Israel started a massive assault in Lebanon following the capture of two Israeli soldiers by Hizbollah on July 12.
