With the fast development of foreign trade, China has established a solid port logistic infrastructure, which centers on ports and air ports and radiates by highways, waterways and railways. It forms an open pattern of domestic and international ports along coasts and rivers and by airports and interior borders. On Wednesday Mr Sheng Guangzu, Vice Minister of General Administration of Customs of the People's Republic of China, said that at the end of 2005, the number of Class I foreign ports totaled 253. Of these ports, 133 are water ports, 17 are along railway lines, 47 are on highways, and 56 are air ports.
