Syrian Minister of Information Muhsen Bilal has urged the international community to compel Israel to end its brutal aggression and inhuman massacres against the Lebanese people.
"The Israeli aggression on Lebanon aims at destroying the country and hitting the national resistance," Bilal, who was
former ambassador to Spain, said in an interview with a Spanish newspaper, the official SANA news agency reported on Thursday.
He described the Israeli bombing of a convoy of relief as " state terrorism, barbaric acts and war crimes", saying "this act is another example of Israeli lies and baseless accusations to justify the killing of the innocents and civilians."
At least 300 Lebanese, mostly civilians, have been killed in massive Israeli airstrikes since Lebanon's Hezbollah guerrillas captured two Israeli soldiers and killed eight in a cross-border attack on July 12.
