font size

India Friday asked Pakistan to arrest key figures masterminding terrorist activities, according to Indo-Asian News Service.

New Delhi asked Islamabad to arrest Syed Salahuddin, leader of Hizb-ul-Mujahideen, the anti-India militant group based in Kashmir, and Dawood Ibrahim, suspected mastermind of the 1993 Mumbai terro bombings, and deport them to India.

"The self-styled chief of the Hizb-ul-Mujahideen, Syed Salahuddin, who is freely roaming in Pakistan and in PcK (Pakistan- controlled Kashmir) ... should be arrested and handed over to India," Indo-Asian News Service quoted Indian external affairs ministry spokesperson Navtej Sarna as saying.

Pakistan President Pervez Musharraf had asked India to provide evidence for those it suspects to be behind the deadly Mumbai blasts.
