Presidents of Yemen, Iran discuss Middle East crises on phone
font size

Yemeni President Ali Abdallah Salih and his Iranian counterpart Mahmoud Ahmadinejad made a phone conversation on Friday to discuss the present situation in the Middle East, especially the Lebanon-Israeli conflict and the Palestine-Israeli crisis.

Ahmadinejad stressed that Iran firmly stood with the Lebanese and Palestinian people and supported Arab nations' fight against Israeli aggression, the Yemeni news agency reported.

For his part, Salih said the Arab nations should speak in one voice under the current circumstances and unanimously condemn Israeli assaults.

Salih also urged the Arab nations to try their best to push the United Nations Security Council to make a resolution as soon as possible on a ceasefire between Lebanon and Israel as well as between the Palestinians and Israel.
