font size

India-controlled Kashmir police Saturday said they have arrested a top Lashkar-e-Taiba (LeT) operative who masterminded the suicide strike on a Congress rally in May and several grenade attacks on tourists in the valley, Press Trust of India reported Saturday.

Mudasir Gujri was arrested a few days ago.

Mudasir, who has been going by several names, has been identified as Mohammad Rafiq Sheikh of Tilar Kishtwar in Doda district of India-controlled Kashmir, state Director General of Police Gopal Sharma said.

Mudasir joined LeT in 1999 and spent four years training at camps managed by the LeT, Sharma said.
