The majority of the Kuwaiti diplomatic mission evacuated from Lebanon into Syria on Saturday, the official Kuwait News Agency (KUNA) reported.
Meanwhile, Kuwaiti Ambassador to Lebanon Ali Al-Saeed announced on Friday that only three Kuwaiti diplomats including himself stayed in Lebanon, according to KUNA.
Al-Saeed also said that the embassy had succeeded in evacuating all Kuwaiti nationals from Lebanon except two families trapped in the south.
Meanwhile, the Kuwaiti National Assembly (Parliament) announced on Saturday that Kuwait would take part in the extraordinary meeting of the Arab Inter-Parliamentary Union (AIPU) due to be held in Cairo on Tuesday to discuss regional crisis.
In a statement to the media, Kuwaiti parliament speaker Jassem Al-Kharafi said that Kuwait would participate in the emergency meeting called by Lebanese parliament speaker Nabih Berri.
The meeting will discuss the Israeli offensives in Lebanon and the Palestinian territory of Gaza, said the statement.
Israel pressed ahead a days-long massive offensive in Lebanon, which was launched on July 12 when the Lebanese Shiite group Hezbollah kidnapped two Israeli soldiers and killed eight in a cross-border attack.
Meanwhile, the Israeli army continued a weeks-long operation into the Gaza Strip in an effort to halt Palestinian rocket firing and free an Israeli soldier abducted by Palestinian militants on June 25.
