Pakistan returns two Kashmiri children to India
font size

Pakistan has handed over two Kashmiri boys to India, who mistakenly crossed the Line of Control (LoC) and entered Pakistan-controlled Kashmir a few days ago, the NNI news agency reported.

Muhammad Shafi, 15, and Shahjahan, 16, were handed over to the Indian authorities at the Titrinot, a crossing point on LoC, on Saturday, according to News Network International.

The Kashmir boys mistakenly crossed the Control Line and entered Pakistan-controlled Kashmir, where security officials took them into custody three days ago.

Incidents mistakenly crossing the LoC occurred frequently and these people are taken into custody by the security forces of the either side and later sent back on request and confirmation of their identity, but in the past this procedure took months and years.

The crossing point at Titrinot is one of five points, which were opened after last October's earthquake on both parts of the Kashmir.
