A total of five out of the seven Nepalese rescued from Lebanon returned Nepal on Saturday evening, local media reported Sunday.
"A total of five Nepalese out of seven rescued from Lebanon arrived at Tribhuvan International Airport at Gaucharan of downtown Kathmandu city from the Indian capital New Delhi," state- run Radio Nepal reported.
"The five Nepalese nationals reached New Delhi Saturday morning via Mumbai with the assistance of the Indian government," the radio quoted the Nepalese Embassy in New Delhi as saying.
The other two rescued Nepalese went to their relatives' house in India, the embassy added.
Meanwhile, Deputy Prime Minister and Minister for Foreign Affairs of Nepal K.P. Sharma Oli has said that 17 Nepalese have returned from Lebanon with the assistance of the Indian government.
"Out of 17 rescued Nepalese, the remaining 10 are arriving New Delhi on Sunday with Indian nationals," Oli said.
The work regarding dissemination of information to various bodies and rescuing the stranded Nepalese was in progress, he added.
According to Yadav Khanal, spokesman at the Ministry of Foreign Affairs, there are some 4,000 Nepalese in Lebanon. However, only 90 out of them were in contact.
