Landsliding kills 12 in Pakistan-controlled Kashmir
font size

At least 12 people, including seven women and a child, were killed on Monday when a mudslide fell on quake victims' settlement in Muzaffarabad, capital of Pakistan-controlled Kashmir, the private GEO Television reported.

It occurred at 4 a.m. when a landslide caused by torrential rain destroyed a camp settlement at Chahla area, near Muzzaffarabad, GEO reported.

In an immediate response to the calamity, local civil administration and army recovered the bodies from the rubbles, GEO said.

During the rainy season from July to September in Pakistan, many parts of the country have witnessed heavy rain which causes flood and landsliding, claiming lives and damaging properties.
